Why was this course created?

Working with athletes requires a structured approach to program creation and planning the training year. Most personal training courses fail to deliver this information, and therefore this course was created to upskill fitness professional on working effectively with athletes. This course delivers information pitched between level 4-5, and therefore to get the most from this content, underpinning knowledge to a level 3 standard is suggested before undertaking this course. This course will allow you to confidently assess static and dynamic postures and consider stability and mobility restrictions. This will allow suitable and personalised corrective exercise prehab / rehab programs to be designed for the client, improving muscle coordination, movement quality and exercise technique.

What will you learn?

This course will teach you the principles of strength and conditioning, foundations of strength training and adaptations, understanding the specific requirement of an athlete or sport, fatigue and recovery management, programming at a micro/mesocyle level, producing an annual plan, a periodised approach hypertrophy, strength and power and different approaches to periodisation.
